Bride dupes hubby flees with cash ornaments

After dinner, the bride allegedly offered laced tea with intoxicants to her husband and her in-laws. According to victims, the girl claimed herself to be an orphan and lived with her uncle and aunt. As soon as the duo felt asleep, she runs away with cash and jewellery. Interestingly, none of the victims knew the exact name of the woman’s village or her relatives. AGRA: A newlywed bride fled with jewellery and other valuable items worth several lakh after offering tea laced with intoxicants to husband and in-laws in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district The incident took place on Monday late night in Araunj village of Shikohabad police jurisdiction when newly married Dharmendar Yadav (28) along with his family members were offered tea post-dinner by the bride. The matter came to light on Tuesday early morning, after a neighbour found victims unconscious with gate and doors opened and valuables missing.According to police, a total of six persons were admitted to the community health centre of Shikohabad but now are in stable condition.Speaking to TOI, Shikohabad SHO Ashok Yadav said: "All were lying unconscious near dinner table but after regaining conscious in hospital, they alleged that newlywed daughter-in-law and her three relatives were missing with all the valuables and jewellery from the house.”Officer Yadav said, "Last Friday, in an arranged marriage Dharmender Yadav tied the knot with an Etah based girl. According to victims, the girl claimed herself to be an orphan and lived with her uncle and aunt. Interestingly, none of the victims knew the exact name of the woman’s village or her relatives."A local source claimed, Dharmender Yadav was eager to get married and a couple of weeks back, two youths who identified themselves as Munnalal and Vijay of Vijaypura village, Matsena police jurisdiction, Firozabad district, introduced Etah woman to him. On Valentine Day, the couple got engaged in a temple and very next day, they tied the knot in grand wedding organised at a local banquet hall. All the expense of wedding was incurred by Dharmender’s family."On Monday evening, bride’s three relatives visited Dharmender’s house. After dinner, the bride allegedly offered laced tea with intoxicants to her husband and her in-laws. By morning, the newlywed bride and her relatives fled with valuables," said the local source.By the time this report was filed, an FIR in the matter was yet to be lodged, as the victim family was still ascertaining the total loss they incurred after been robbed.Earlier too newlywed brides have robbed husband and in-laws home in Kasganj and Agra districts as well.On December 25, 2016, a newlywed bride had offered intoxicant laced dinner to husband and in-laws and fled with valuables in Surjai village of Amapur police jurisdiction, Kasganj.In the same year, on September 18, a bride had offered intoxicant laced tea to husband and in-laws and fled with valuables in Patiyali area of Kasganj district While on May 23 another married woman offered sleeping pills laced milk to her husband and step-son. As soon as the duo felt asleep, she runs away with cash and jewellery.
