Sedition invoked in Kalindi Express blast case

AGRA: Farrukhabad GRP of Agra division has invoked sedition charges under IPC section 124 (A) against unknown person/s for low intensity blast in Kalandi Express. According to report, unknown person has already been booked under 151 railway act, Explosive substance act section 3,4 and IPC 286 (Negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance). Later on Thursday early morning, Farrukhabad GRP lodged an FIR based on a written complaint of train guard J P Verma. Teams from GRP Agra division Kanpur police and ATS are jointly working on the case.Speaking to TOI, Ravikant Parashar, CO GRP Kasganj said, “We have got good lead from one detained man. Meanwhile, we have sent the explosive samples to Agra forensic lab.”Official sources at Agra explosive forensic laboratory said, “A detailed report of the substance recovered from Kalandi Express would be submitted by Monday.”Mukesh Malik, station house officer of Farrukhabad GRP said, “Based on the ongoing probe, we have invoked sedition charges in FIR.

According to police officials, at least three men have been detained from Shivarajpur area of Kanpur district for questioning. Later on Thursday early morning, Farrukhabad GRP lodged an FIR based on a written complaint of train guard J P Verma.
