SAHARANPUR: UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath compared local Congress candidate Imran Masood with Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar, asking people whether they would vote for a person who spoke like the ‘dreaded terrorist’?Calling Imran the 'damaad' (son-in-law) of Azhar, Yogi said: “There is a terrorist in Pakistan called Masood Azhar. In Saharanpur , you have his 'son-in-law' who speaks in his language. Now, you have to decide whether the person who speaks Azhar Masood-like language should win, or the soldier-like Raghav Lakhanpal (the BJP candidate)?Launching his election campaign after offering prayer at the famous Shakumbhari Devi temple here, Yogi said that the SP-BSP alliance leaders were having ‘Mungeri laal ke haseen sapne’ (wild dreams) to see a PM of their own by contesting merely 37 and 38 seats. “When asked who is the PM candidate of the alliance, Akhikesh Yadav looks at Mayawati. How are they supposed to have their Prime Ministerial candidate in parliament of 545 seats by contesting just 37 and 38 seats?” he asked.Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, Yogi said: "Before 2014, we only had Narendra Modi’s name, but now we also have his work. The work done by Modi in just 55 months has left far behind the work done by Congress in 55 years.”Without naming Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, Yogi said: “I was listening to 'naamdaron ke kuldeepak' (scion of a notable family) in parliament when he said that that he would bring technology where farmers could grow 1.5-foot potatoes. When Amethi farmers asked for his help in sugarcane farming, he said, he would create environment where one can grow sugarcane trees."Speaking about Congress’s Indian overseas chief Sam Pitroda, Adityanath, said, “There is a ‘mahaguru’ of Congress, Sam Pitroda. His name is Sam but he has become a ‘shame’ for the country by questioning the armed forces' attack in Pakistan. With such a guru, one can imagine how his students would be. You must have heard finance minister Arun Jaitley calling somebody ‘man without brains’. You know very well who he was talking about now.”Talking about the Balakot air strike, Adityanath, said, “Do you know why questions are being raised by the opposition leaders against the air strike? This is because in their tenure, terrorists were being fed biryani, and in our rule they are being fed bullets.”In his 41-minute speech, Yogi also called upon people to remember about the India before 2014 - when development work like Delhi-Meerut rapid rail — which was given a green signal with Rs 30,000 crore under BJP rule — couldn’t be carried out because of corruption.“This work couldn’t be completed under SP and BSP rules because they used to fix commissions for ‘Bua-Babua’. And under Congress, schemes were made such that the masses could be looted. And hence everybody is turning against Modiji. After all ‘chor-chor mausere bhai’ (Corrupts are hand in glove),” he said.
