Even after Akhilesh lost in 2017, Naik had asked CM Yogi Adityanath for an inquiry into the alleged ransacking of the official residence allotted to Akhilesh.
Kalyan’s view in this regard had gone viral and the Opposition demanded his resignation. Before this, Naik and Akhilesh as chief minister had indulged in a war of words on several issues.
Akhilesh also went on to say that the governor in Lucknow had gone for a visit for political gains. In a letter to Akhikesh, Naik clarified that he had visited a family in Lucknow whose kin had died in a road accident.
LUCKNOW: Taking note of former chief minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav allegedly raising questions over his visit to express condolences to a bereaved family, Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik condemned the move by saying that one should not stoop so low.The reaction came after Akhilesh, while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, criticised the manner in which governors were indulging in politics to promote the ruling BJP.
The bereaved family was related to one of the doctors posted in Raj Bhawan, stated Naik, adding that Akhilesh has been a chief minister and a responsible citizen and he did not expect him to say this about a condolence meeting.Naik said he has been in public life for over 50 years and he knows how to behave as a governor.Akhilesh had criticised governors by saying they were indulging in politics, without naming Rajasthan governor Kalyan Singh who, during a visit to Aligarh, had appealed to the public to elect Narendra Modi as Prime Minister once again.
