Governor attacks Akhilesh for remark on visit to bereaved family

LUCKNOW: Taking note of former chief minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav allegedly raising questions over his visit to express condolences to a bereaved family, Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik condemned the move by saying that one should not stoop so low.The reaction came after Akhilesh, while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, criticised the manner in which governors were indulging in politics to promote the ruling BJP. The bereaved family was related to one of the doctors posted in Raj Bhawan, stated Naik, adding that Akhilesh has been a chief minister and a responsible citizen and he did not expect him to say this about a condolence meeting.Naik said he has been in public life for over 50 years and he knows how to behave as a governor.Akhilesh had criticised governors by saying they were indulging in politics, without naming Rajasthan governor Kalyan Singh who, during a visit to Aligarh, had appealed to the public to elect Narendra Modi as Prime Minister once again.
