The court importantly held that the offence was found to have been committed in conspiracy with the then principal secretary of the department. MD (administration) of the department, Alok Dixit , had lodged an FIR in this connection in 2013. The court had on Wednesday convicted the accused under sections 420, 384, 409, 467, 468, 471 and 120B of IPC and the Prohibition of Corruption Act. LUCKNOW: Additional sessions judge A K Shukla on Friday awarded five-year jail to the then managing director of UP Sahkari Gramya Vikas Bank Limited Nawal Kishore , for his involvement in a departmental scam involving crores of rupees in 2013.The court also sentenced co-accused Vinod Gupta with four-year jail, but acquitted his wife Seema Gupta for want of evidence.Further, the court imposed a fine of Rs 31,000 on Kishore and of Rs 7,000 on Gupta.While passing the punishment order, the court observed that Kishore committed the offences in the capacity of a public servant while Gupta played the role of his accomplice.
