After the incident, Gurpreet's father Manmeet had approached the police and asked for Amrita and Sanket to be booked on charges of murder.
She had said she and Gurpreet were sitting on the banks in a tipsy state and had decided to take a dip in the canal.
Then she and Sanket called police, Amrita had claimed.On Friday, the two accused were questioned again and Amrita said that she was alone with Singh and called Sanket after the incident.
Suddenly, she slipped and while trying to help her, Gurpreet drowned.
