Gurpreets friend wasnt present at Indira canal

After the incident, Gurpreet's father Manmeet had approached the police and asked for Amrita and Sanket to be booked on charges of murder. She had said she and Gurpreet were sitting on the banks in a tipsy state and had decided to take a dip in the canal. Then she and Sanket called police, Amrita had claimed.On Friday, the two accused were questioned again and Amrita said that she was alone with Singh and called Sanket after the incident. Suddenly, she slipped and while trying to help her, Gurpreet drowned. LUCKNOW: In a twist to 30-year-old tattoo artist Gurpreet Singh's murder case , one of the co-accused has admitted he was not at the scene of Singh's death.The revelation came after police questioned Sanket Agnihotri whose mobile phone location was found to be Alambagh instead of Indira Canal , where Singh drowned.Initially, co-accused Amrita Rathore had told police that Singh had gone out with her and Sanket.

Sanket reached the spot in a cab and informed the police that Singh had drowned, she said.Neither Amrita nor Sanket had an answer to why they did not tell the police about this earlier, said SHO Chinhat Sachin Singh.The SHO further added that investigation had revealed that Amrita and Gurpreet had gone in the same car to Indira Canal. After the incident, Gurpreet's father Manmeet had approached the police and asked for Amrita and Sanket to be booked on charges of murder.
