Denied cash for liquor, man kills wife in Agra

After Shakuntala fell unconscious, Satyapal and his elder brother took her to a hospital in an ambulance but she died on the way.

AGRA: A woman has been found dead in her apartment in Firozabad district . According to her nine-year-old daughter, the woman’s husband had thrashed the victim to death after she refused to give him money for liquor . The woman’s husband is absconding.Identified as Shakuntala Nishad (32), a mother of four children, the deceased was a resident of Gangaramthar village of Nagla Singhi police jurisdiction. She was married to one Satyapal Nishad for nearly a decade.According to police, her body was recovered from her residence on Friday night.Speaking to TOI, Pradeep Kumar Chaturvedi, station house officer (SHO) of Nagla Singhi said, “Police was informed about her death by the victim’s nine-year-old daughter Guddiya. She claimed that her father, Satyapal, beat up her mother after the latter refused to give him money to buy liquor. After Shakuntala fell unconscious, Satyapal and his elder brother took her to a hospital in an ambulance but she died on the way. After that, they brought her body back home and fled.”“Though her daughter claims she was assaulted, no external injury marks were found on the woman’s body. We have sent the body for autopsy and once the post-mortem report confirms the cause of death, we will file an FIR based on the written complaint of the deceased’s family members,” added the SHO.
