LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi may attend Ayodhya bhumi pujan via video conference

Leaders of the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation, Lalkrishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, are likely to attend the Ram Mandir bhumi pujan event at Ayodhya via videoconferencing. The August 5 event at Ayodhya will mark the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the Ram Mandir is being eagerly awaited by followers across the country.

Ayodhya: Leaders of the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation, Lalkrishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, are likely to attend the Ram Mandir bhumi pujan event at Ayodhya via videoconferencing. The August 5 event at Ayodhya will mark the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the Ram Mandir is being eagerly awaited by followers across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the event while local authorities and the Uttar Pradesh government has made elaborate security arrangements for the bhumi pujan event. Lalkrishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and other senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Hindutva movement will be attending the event through video conference over their ailing health and the coronavirus situation.

The administration has prepared a list of 10 top leaders who will be attending the bhumi pujan event through video conference. Sources say, during the bhumi pujan event on August 5, Prime Minister Modi may share the stage with four other leaders. Apart from PM Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Nritya Gopal Das, chief of Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas, will be present on the stage along with two other dignitaries. No other leader or saint will be present on the stage for the ceremony.

Local authorities have said gatherings of five or more people will be banned in Ayodhya on August 5 to follow social distancing protocols during the event. Huge police deployment will also be seen across the temple town of Ayodhya with the government planning to send an additional 3,500 police personnel for the security arrangements.
