Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath spoke to a News Channel soon after completing the bhoomi pujan rituals at the Ram Janmabhoomi Sthal in Ayodhya.  CM Adityanath said that those who are chanting the name of Lord Ram today were the same ones who removed the Ram Lalla idol from the site in Ayodhya. Asked about his reaction to UP Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s open support towards the bhoomi pujan and Lord Ram, CM Adityanath told, “Some of these people are chanting the name of Lord Ram now were also responsible for removing the idol of Ram Lalla. They wanted to do the shilanyas 200 metres away from the actual spot.”

Around 175 people were invited for the bhoomi pujan event in Ayodhya that was led by PM Narendra Modi and was participated by Yogi Adityanath, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and others.  Asked about why leaders from other parties were also not invited for the bhoomi pujan event, Yogi Adityanath said, “We wanted to invite everyone, but looking at the coronavirus crisis in our country, we could only invite around 200 people. Even BJP leaders are not part of the event. Our national president is also not present here today.”

He added, “Lord Ram is for everyone. People should never try to divide the society using his name. We have only tried to unite people through Lord Ram.” “People who are chanting Lord Ram’s name today should think about their views on him in 1949, 1984 and the following years. They are talking a different language now and were saying something else earlier,” Yogi Adityanath told.

Asked about the communal colour being given to the bhoomi pujan event, Yogi Adityanath said, “People who want to look at Lord Ram with such narrow minds can only be seen visiting temples during the election time to show their support towards Hindu voters.” He also said that before him, no other Uttar Pradesh CM had visited Ayodhya in over decades as they were all scared to step foot in the temple town.
