In Kashi, one meet of PM Modi only for women

VARANASI: On his visit to his parliamentary constituency after introducing the historical Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam on Saturday, PM Narendra Modi will address a public meeting exclusively for women at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University grounds in Varanasi.As soon as the meeting was added to Modis proposed visit, district administration and police officials as well as BJP cadres swung into action. Divisional commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma said: "As per the initial itinerary, after laying the foundation of international cricket stadium the PM was scheduled to address a public meeting. On Thursday, another event was added to the PMs 7-hour visit, in which, he will address women exclusively at the SSU ground."Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an all-women rally in Varanasi on Saturday in the backdrop of the womens reservation bill which has been passed by Parliament. Only the PM and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be present on the dais at this special meeting, said district officials. The PM will next visit the Rudraksh centre in his constituency where he will distribute prizes to the winners of Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsava and interact with students of Atal residential schools which he will dedicate to the nation. Addition of public meeting for women in the Modis proposed visit was a surprise for the BJP leaders and they convened a meeting at the Gulab Bagh office on Thursday to discuss preparations for it. BJP womens wing Kashi region president Namrata Chaurasia said they had initially planned to draw women in big numbers to Ganjari to express gratitude to the PM for the womens reservation bill. The district administration and police officials too remained busy throughout the day in the security arrangements, rehearsal of PMs chopper landing at Ganjari, and preparations at other venues. Varanasi police commissioner Ashok Mutha Jain said the arrival of additional forces from other districts has started and they would be briefed on Friday before their deployment. BJP leaders, led by Kashi region unit chief Dilip Singh Patel, reached Ganjari to review preparations for the public meeting. They felicitated over 25 gram pradhans of Sevapuri and Rohaniya assembly areas and appealed to them to attend the public meeting along with the villagers in a large number.
