PHC locked, woman delivers in auto in UP`s Harauni; Dy CM Brajesh Pathak orders probe

LUCKNOW: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak ordered a probe in the case of a pregnant woman who, failing to receive timely treatment at a locked primary health centre, was forced to deliver the baby in an auto, in Harauni on Friday, Pathak ordered an inquiry into the matter on Saturday and called for a report within three days from chief medical officer Lucknow, Dr Manoj Agrawal.He also ordered investigations into multiple incidents of medical negligence and suspended the licence of one hospital. A probe has been ordered in the case of a sweeper allegedly caught taking bribe from the family of a deceased person at the mortuary in Fatehpur. Besides, an inquiry is underway in a case of alleged indecency with a woman by a doctor at the Government Medical College in Kannauj. The college principal was asked to submit reports within a week. The licence of Amethis Janata Hospital has been suspended following the death of a female patient. Pathak instructed the CMO Amethi to conduct inquiry and submit report within a week. He stated that medical negligence could not be tolerated.
