Man dies by suicide in BJP MLA`s flat in Lucknow after argument with girlfriend

LUCKNOW: A 30-year-old man allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself in the government flat allotted to BJP MLA Yogesh Shukla at new Darul Safa in Hazratganj area of Lucknow.The deceased has been identified as Shreshth Tripathi.The man, originally from Barabanki, used to work in the media cell of the MLA and lived in MLAs government flat number-804 of the 10th floor high-rise government building located in Lalbagh area of Hazratganj, said the police.Deputy commissioner of police, Central Zone, Aparna Rajat Kaushik, said that based on circumstantial evidence, the deceased ended his life on Sunday night around 11:30pm-12am.DCP said that the man took his life allegedly after an argument with his girlfriend. The girlfriend was standing at the gate of the flat at the time of the incident. He hanged himself while making a video call to her.Police reached the spot after receiving information from the bystanders and the body was brought down from the noose after breaking the door. Police did not recover any suicide note from the room.Mobile phones of Shreshth and his girlfriend have been seized by the police. The forensic team also examined the room.According to Rashmie Khare, the manager of the building there are around 40 flats and 30 CCTV cameras are installed at every corner. The technical team has been called to look into the footage of last night.
