Govt okays ₹10 crore for revamp of 4 hosps

Lucknow: The state government will revamp four government hospitals and embellish them with modern medical equipment making them patient friendly.The list includes district hospitals, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Siddharth Nagar (Bansi) besides Maharaja Chet Singh Hospital, Bhadohi and Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (Civil) Hospital Lucknow.Confirming this on Monday, an official spokesperson said: Administrative and financial approval have been given for the allocation of funds worth Rs 9.98 crore, and instructions were also issued by the government to complete all these proposed works expeditiously.He added that the hospitals were being upgraded as part of CM Yogi Adityanaths commitment to enhancing healthcare facilities.Officials concerned said a sum of Rs 3.25 crore has been set aside for government hospital Siddharth Nagar. Similarly, Rs 2.98 crore has been reserved for district Hospital in Gautam Buddh Nagar while Rs 2.36 crore for Maharaja Chet Singh Hospital in Bhadohi. For the hospital in Lucknow, Rs 1.47 crore has been set aside. The government has provided modern equipment worth Rs 5.10 crore and created 148 teaching, non-teaching, and administrative positions for the institution. The Dental Council of India has approved the admission of 50 students annually for the BDS course.HC paves way for construction of 400-bed hospital by Apollo Hospitals in GurgaonThe Punjab and Haryana high court has dismissed a revision petition filed by Ujjagar Construction, clearing the way for Apollo Hospital Limited to construct a 400-bed hospital in Gurgaon. The court stated that the Memorandum of Understanding on which Ujjagar Construction based its case was non-enforceable since no money had been paid or invested. The court also noted that Apollo Hospital had invested Rs 438 crore in the project and held the land allotted by the government for healthcare development.
