IPS Subhash Chandra elected president of Lucknow Golf Club

Lucknow: IPS officer Subhash Chandra was on Monday elected the president of the Lucknow Golf Club with a comfortable margin of over 500 votes.While Chandra, a 1990-batch officer will now spearhead the LGC, Rajneesh Sethi will be the new secretary.Sanjeev Agarwal and RS Nanda were elected the joint secretary and captain, respectively.Madhav Chaturvedi, Ankit Agarwal, Gurmeet Singh, Ankit Khandelwal, Siddhartha Varma and Deepak Kumar were elected members of the managing committee.Out of over 2,000 members of the club 1,068 came forward to elect the 10-member managing committee which plays a crucial role in outlining priority areas.Chandra, who is the director general of UP police cyber crime division, said he would focus on providing better amenities to players and visitors.Within the next two years, we will raise the bar of the prestigious club and strive to match the standards of reputed national and international golf clubs, he said.In total, Chandra secured 766 votes. His nearest contender was a distant second with only 262 votes.The election was held after the previous committee that was formed in 2022 under the chairmanship of former DGP Javed Ahmed was dissolved. A club member from Hazratganj, Apoorv Mishra, said: We have complete faith in the leadership of the club and would stand behind the president at all times. UP team excelled in the National Masters swimming championship with 15 medals, including two golds won by Prakash Awasthi and Satya Prakash Yadav.Pay 2.5k Cr In Damages, DDA Tells Roshanara ClubDelhi Development Authority (DDA) has demanded Rs 2,485.7 crore in damages from Roshanara Club Limited (RCL) for operating the club without permission after the expiry of its leases. DDA claims that RCL continued to run the club despite not being given written permission. DDA has given RCL seven days to respond. Club members argue that they were told by the housing ministry that a lease extension policy was being formulated. They plan to file a separate petition in court.
