OBA to shun all judicialwork today

Lucknow: Members of the Oudh Bar Association will abstain from judicial work in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad HC on Friday to press for their l demand for extension of territorial jurisdiction of the Lucknow bench.OBA office, library, pass counter, ticket counter, canteens and all blocks would remain closed on Friday, said OBA general secretary Manoj Mishra.OBA president AM Tripathi said Jaswant Singh Commission report has already recommended that Kanpur and Bareilly divisions should be attached with Lucknow bench as they are closer to Lucknow. Despite this, the government has not taken this decision so far, he added. There is no logic that litigants have to pass by Lucknow to approach the Allahabad HC for filing cases. Chaturvedi has requested to shift his case and submitted information sought through RTI that revealed no document on record to substantiate the finding recorded in the order.
