Saffron brigade fueling hatred, dividing community for political gains: Rahul

  • | Sunday | 18th February, 2024

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, on Friday, targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the saffron brigade was fueling hatred and dividing the community for electoral gains. There are two types of ideologies in the country, one unites brother with brother and one makes brother hate brother. This is the difference between Congress and the BJP.  They are creating hatred while Congress is trying to spread love and harmony between all sections of society, Rahul Gandhi said, claiming that through his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra he was trying to spread the message of love and close the market of hatred. Rahul was speaking at National Inter College grounds in the Syedraja locality of Chandauli where he and other members of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra were given a grand welcome by the leaders of Uttar Pradesh, including partys state president Ajay Rai and AICC general secretary, Avinash Pandey. Various other issues were added to the long list of woes when I visited UP last time. The government is not concerned with the problems of the poor and farmers. Violence is spreading in the country and the main reason for this is that injustice is being done to farmers, poor, women and youth, Rahul Gandhi alleged while claiming that his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was getting full support from the countrymen. Speaking on the Pran Pratistha of Lord Ram, Rahul Gandhi said a red carpet was rolled out for industrialists and billionaires at the consecration ceremony but the tribal President or the poor, unemployed youths and farmers were not seen at the event. Indirectly attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP for using the consecration ceremony for political gains, he said the government did not want to include poor and Dalits in it, Describing the Modi governments Agnipath scheme as a betrayal of the youth, Rahul Gandhi said that Agniveers would neither get canteen facility, nor pension, nor will they get martyr status. This is a betrayal of the youth. The Modi government brought the Agnipath scheme so that money from the countrys defence budget does not go to the defence, training and pension of our soldiers. All defence contracts are with Adanis company. The Modi government wants to give the entire money of Indias budget to Adani. Therefore Agniveer Yojana was brought, he said. Rahul Gandhi further said that the Modi government wanted everyone to become contract labourers. The youth are not getting jobs in the Army, Railways and public sector, because the Modi government wants the youth to work only on contract. Today, two-three billionaires in India are getting full benefits and the future of the youth is being snatched away by diverting their attention. When our government comes to power at the Centre, recruitment will be done on vacant government posts all over India, the Congress leader said. While traveling on foot, Rahul Gandhi offered flowers at the statues of martyrs on the way to Chandauli from Mughalsarai. On Saturday, the yatra will start from Chandauli and enter Varanasi. UP Congress president Ajay Rai, senior leaders Pramod Tiwari and Jairam Ramesh and other senior party officials along with a large number of workers and general public were present in the meeting. There was talk about the arrival of national leaders of the INDIA bloc including Pallavi Patel and Swami Prasad Maurya but they were missing from the function.
