No relief yet from sun's wrath

Hamirpur was hottest district in the state boiling at a maximum temperature of 44.6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded as 26.7 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal. Partly-cloudy skies led to a rise in night temperatures in the state capital on Saturday. The moisture has led to occurrence of thunderstorms and hail in some areas of west UP and a decline in day-time temperatures in many parts parts of central and east UP, including Lucknow. "The drought-ridden Bundelkh and region witnessed high temperatures on Saturday as well.

LUCKNOW: Hot and humid conditions prevailed in the city on Saturday, even as thundershowers and hail storms were reported in some parts of state.In Lucknow, however, sultry conditions will continue on Sunday with a high probability of thunderstorms. Partly-cloudy skies led to a rise in night temperatures in the state capital on Saturday. The minimum temperature was recorded as 26.7 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal. However, as clouds led to a decline in the day-time temperatures, the maximum temperature was recorded as 38 degrees Celsius, a degree below normal.The change in weather also led to a rise in relative humidity, causing a lot of discomfort to locals. On Sunday, the sky would be partly cloudy with maximum and minimum temperatures around 38 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively.State Met director JP Gupta said, "An upper air cyclonic circulation is hovering over the state, leading to a rise in moisture content in the atmosphere. The moisture has led to occurrence of thunderstorms and hail in some areas of west UP and a decline in day-time temperatures in many parts parts of central and east UP, including Lucknow. Similar conditions will continue till Tuesday-Wednesday."The drought-ridden Bundelkh and region witnessed high temperatures on Saturday as well.
