Students who showed CM Yogi black flags released after 20 days in jail

LUCKNOW: The 11 students who were in jail since June 7 for showing black flags to chief minister Yogi Adityanath during an event at the Lucknow University were granted bail on Tuesday.Additional Sessions Judge PM Tripathi directed that the students be released on bail on their furnishing two sureties of Rs 40,000 each and a personal bond of the same amount.The accused students are Anil Yadav, Mahendra Yadav, Madhurya Singh Mathur, Vineet Kumar Kushwaha, Satyavrat Singh, Ankit Singh Babu, Ashok Kumar Prabhat, Nitin Raju, Rakesh Samajwadi, Apoorva Verma and Pooja Shukla.On June 7, 2017, when Yogi was on his way to the LU campus to take part in `Hindvi Swaraj Diwas' event, students affiliated to All India Students Association, Students Federation of India and Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha sat on the road blocking his convoy and showed him black flags.The police took the students to the police station where sub-inspector Abhay Kumar Singh lodged FIR against them under serious section of Indian Penal Code.
