Ludhiana, March 17 To discuss prevailing crisis in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), leaders from Ludhiana urban and rural units of the party today held a meeting and expressed full support and solidarity with national convener Arvind Kejriwal. Earlier, Kejriwal had apologised to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia for levelling allegations of his involvement in the drug trade. The meeting was addressed by leaders, including state general secretary Ahbaab Grewal, state spokesperson Darshan Singh Shankar, Ludhiana urban president Daljit Singh Grewal and Ludhiana rural president Ranjit Singh Dhamot among others. AAP leaders said they were hurt after Kejriwal’s apology to Majithia, but felt he was under tremendous pressure because of various cases filed against him in several parts of the country, which affected his ability to perform his duties as the Delhi Chief Minister and party convener. Leaders claimed that people of Punjab had supported AAP and Kejriwal by making it the largest Opposition with 20 MLAs, which should never be forgotten. “Some leaders enjoying high posts are instigating cadres against the party and its leadership. They should stop criticising the party or its leadership as they hold positions because of the party,” they added. All AAP leaders and members resolved to unite and stand by Kejriwal. Party activists happy after LIP breaks alliance AAP members while taking a serious note of comments by Bains brothers said the latter had displayed a perfect example of opportunistic politics and their true colours. Bains brothers had taken full advantage of the AAP, they said. The terminology used by them and their actions had shown people as to who the real traitors were, they added. Participants expressed happiness over breaking of alliance by the Lok Insaf Party (LIP) with AAP on its own. They opined that AAP had suffered a big loss due to the alliance.
