Three held for stealing liquor

BRIEFLYThe city police have arrested three persons involved in the theft case at a wine shop in Lehra village. The accused have been identified as Hitesh Verma, his father Balram Verma and mother Santosh Verma, residents of Janakpuri, New Delhi. After verifying their whereabouts, the police party raided their premises and arrested the accused.

The accused have been identified as Pawan Kumar, alias Pamma, a resident of Motiala village, Ferozepur; Shamsher Singh and Manpreet Singh, alias Peeta, residents of Gopalpur, Ludhiana. Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramandeep Singh Bhullar said on March 17, the accused barged into a wine shop and decamped with expensive liquor and Rs 5,000. After verifying their whereabouts, the police party raided their premises and arrested the accused. The police also recovered nine cases of English liquor and four cases of country made liquor. One Indica car used in the crime was also impounded. The ACP said, the police remand of the accused would be sought so that more recovery of stolen goods could be made. Dowry harassment The Women Cell police have booked a husband and his parents on the charge of dowry harassment. The accused have been identified as Hitesh Verma, his father Balram Verma and mother Santosh Verma, residents of Janakpuri, New Delhi. Complainant Pooja of Kabir Nagar told the police that she got married to Hitesh in 2017 and immediately after marriage was subjected to dowry harassment. No arrest has been made in the case so far.The city police have arrested a peddler and recovered 1-kg ganja from him. The accused has been identified as Sakun Mukhia of Giaspura. The police said a routine naka was laid in Phullawal Chowk, where a pedestrian was stopped for checking. During the search of his belongings, narcotics were recovered from him. The police said the accused was on the way to deliver drugs. — TNS
