RS 378.53 cr released to Ludhiana farmers against wheat procurement

He also said that all state agencies and FCI are purchasing wheat in allocated grain markets and MARKFED has procured maximum 1,01,378 MT wheat . Besides that PUNGRAIN has purchased 1,00,060 MT, PUNSUP 68,306, Warehouse 46,448, Punjab AGRO 36,308, FCI 60,992 and private traders have procured 3,158 MT wheat. LUDHIANA: Wheat procurement is going smoothly in Ludhiana district as the Punjab government has already paid Rs 378.53 cr to the farmers against wheat procurement till April 20th.Confirming the development, deputy commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal said, "District administration has made elaborate arrangements for wheat procurement and till April 20, 4,47,711 Metric Ton (MT) wheat has arrived in various grain markets in the district, out of which 4,16,550 MT has been procured by various food grain agencies. District administration has ensured the lifting and payment of procured wheat in time bound manner as per the instructions of Punjab government”Talking about the procurement targets , deputy commissioner said that it was fixed at 9 Lakh MT against the 8.46 lakh MT previous year .
