Central University students block road to protest student's death

The students were protesting against the negligence in providing prompt treatment to a students after he suffered cardiac arrest on Monday evening. BATHINDA: Alleging negligence on the universtiy's part, the students of the Central University of Punjab blocked Bathinda-Talwandi Sabo road on Tuesday. He was playing Basketball on late Monday evening in the university when he suffered a cardiac arrest. The accompanying students rushed Sushant to health center in the university where proper facilities were lacking, alleged the students.The university vice-chancellor RK Kohli met the protesting students and assured of a proper probe into the incident.However, the students said they will not call off the protest till justice is provided and a suitable compensation is given to the bereaved family. The students alleged that the deceased, Sushant Sagar , died as authorities failed to provide quick medical aid in first 30 minutes.The 22-year-old Sushant fron Sahara in Bihar was pursuing post graduation in Biochemistry and was in the 4th semester.
