Dr Goyal advocated use of motility regulator medicines to relieve constipation. Dr Surinder Gupta said, “Constipation is very common in diabetics and elderly people due to autonomic neuropathy genic reduction in peristaltic movements. “Medicines for removing constipation are quite safe and not habit forming,” he said. So, as a family physician NIMA doctors always promote lifestyle changes for better health in the coming years.” Dr Goyal said, “Constipation is most common complaint of elderly and patients suffering from diabetes.

Dr Omesh Goyal, consultant gastroenterologist, DMCH, was the guest speaker on the occasion. While addressing participants he highlighted recent advances in the constipation management. More than 100 doctors attended the seminar. Dr Surinder Gupta said, “Constipation is very common in diabetics and elderly people due to autonomic neuropathy genic reduction in peristaltic movements. So, as a family physician NIMA doctors always promote lifestyle changes for better health in the coming years.” Dr Goyal said, “Constipation is most common complaint of elderly and patients suffering from diabetes. Consumption of high fiber diet consisting salads, vegetables and fruits can keep digestive system healthy and fit.” “Adoption of physically active lifestyle and consumption of plenty of liquids too helps in keeping gastro-intestinal fitness,” he added. Dr Goyal advocated use of motility regulator medicines to relieve constipation. “Medicines for removing constipation are quite safe and not habit forming,” he said.
