District epidemiologist DR Ramesh Kumar said the health teams are already going to residential areas for controlling the breeding of mosquitoes. The civic officials have been asked to ensure fogging in all residential areas in time to prevent any disease outbreaks, especially when showers have already started pouring in. LUDHIANA: In a bid to prevent vector-borne diseases in the city, joint teams of Municipal Corporation and health department will start conducting fogging drives and awareness campaigns in residential areas before the monsoon comes in its full force.The district health department had demanded a team of 40 persons from MC for this task. They collect the larva and ask the MC to challan the people, but now when both teams will go along, the challaning will conducted at a faster pace. He said that apart from this, they are also creating awareness among the masses for adopting preventive measures to curb breeding of mosquitoes because dengue can be controlled only if people take precautionary measures.
