LUDHIANA: Change in weather brings with it change in hairstyles too. With weather oscillating from hot and humid to pleasant. The trend of leaving hair open, straight and with curls, is being replaced by that of buns.A number of women now prefer messy buns . They are opting for these pretty buns even during formal parties.Mehak Kawatra, a make-up artist in city, said, “I give out hair tutorials and now, most of my students are interested in learning the art of making buns of different types. Simple and quick hair buns are so easy to make, when you have to get ready for a function quickly.”One of the clients, Priya Sharma, said, “Buns are not that easy. However, I love to do messy buns as they are in now.” They go with all kinds of dresses, from western to Indian dresses, he added.“As I have straight hair, I used to leave it open on any formal function. But, the hot and humid weather has made that difficult for me. However, normal buns are not in trend. After learning to make different styles in messy buns, I tried one on my friend’s wedding. It gave me a smart and gorgeous look and fetched compliments from many.One of the prominent make-up artists in the city, Shweta Gupta, said these messy buns are really in demand. “As wedding season is on and at the same time weather is also not cool, people of every age are preferring buns. A messy bun is easy and goes with all shapes of faces. The only one thing that need to be taken care of while doing the bun, is its size. Moreover, we can add some flowers as accessories to give the bun a better look.One should choose their hairdo according to weather and should note the changes in trends with seasons. Though learning to make messy buns and other experimental hairstyles, have been an age-old trend abroad, number of hairstylists giving lessons on them here are less. However, city’s prominent make-up artists like Mehak Kawatra are trying their best to change the scene here, said a city resident Karishma Mohan.
