The meeting took place on the sidelines of inauguration of India-Korea Technology Exchange Centre at National Small Industries Corporation ( NSIC ) Campus, Delhi.On the occasion, Kular, along with Rajiv Chawla, chairman of IamSME of India raised several issues pertaining to MSME sector. Giving more information about the same, Kular said, “We were given a patient hearing by the minister and some of the major points which we raised included unjustified hike in prices of steel raw material, which has shot by upto Rs 20,000 per ton just due to cartelisation.

We also demanded technology upgradation and incubation centre at Ludhiana to uplift and modernise Ludhiana’s industry so as the local units can be able to compete with international companies.”Kular also said, “Other major point discussed in the meeting was the differential rates of taxation under GST and we therefore demanded a single rate of tax across the nation as different rates of taxes are not in the interest of the industry and economy as well. We have also requested the minister to visit Ludhiana for a meeting with local industry representatives to have on ground experience of problems we are facing.”
