The deceased has been identified as 78-year-old Darshan Singh of Khandoor village.Police officials said Darshan Singh had left home on his bicycle on Monday evening to meet his daughter Amandeep Kaur at Sherpur Khurd. LUDHIANA: Body of an elderly person was found on the road side on Talwandi Hairan road in Raikot on Tuesday. They added that later his body was spotted by some passerby with bicycle lying near by.Police said the passer by then informed police after which cops from Sadar Raikot police station reached the spot. Later family of the deceased were informed about the incident and body was recovered.Police officials said it appeared that Darshan Singh was hit by some unidentified vehicle after which he fell on the road and died.Station house officer (SHO) (acting) assistant sub inspector ( ASI ) Jasveer Singh said they had initiated inquest proceedings under the CrPC as family didn’t want action against anyone.
