LUDHIANA: A 20-year-old woman along with her lover allegedly got her father murdered as he was dead against their relationship.Kuldeep Kumar, 43, a railway employee, was found murdered in his house at Ajit Nagar, Haibowal, on Friday.Importantly, the woman also roped in her mother in the crime claiming that her father used to molest her.Cops said the trio had hired four men, including a wanted criminal facing trials in several cases of scuffles and attempt to murder, paying them Rs 2.5 lakh for the purpose.Police on Saturday arrested Kuldeep’s wife Geeta Sharma, a lecturer; daughter Sudeeksha, 20; and her lover Tarun Tejpal , 21, of Mehar Singh Colony, Hambran.On Thursday, Kuldeep Kumar, a helper with electronic wing at the railway station, was found dead in his house. His wife Geeta called the police around 6am on Friday saying that some miscreants have barged into the house and killed her husband. To make the incident look like a theft case, she told police that the main door of the house was open and two mobile phones and a motorcycle were found missing.The Haibowal police initially lodged a murder case against unknown persons. By Saturday, the police registered a case against seven people and arrested three main accused.Police commissioner Sukhchain Singh Gill said, “Sudeeksha and her lover Tarun were the mastermind. Kuldeep was a drunkard and would beat his wife and daughter daily. Kuldeep was also against the relation of his daughter with Tarun. About one-and-a-half-years ago Kuldeep had also broken Sudeeksha’s mobile phone to make her stop talking to Tarun. However, she continued her relationship with Tarun.”“About four months ago, Tarun and Sudeeksha made a plan to kill Kuldeep who was the biggest obstacle in their way. The duo planned to rope in Geeta in the crime, telling her that Kuldeep molested her. Since Kuldeep was a drunkard and would beat them often, Geeta believed her daughter,” added Gill.The official said earlier on July 18, Tarun came to their house to murder Kuldeep, but he got scared and went back. Then he contacted his friend Sagar, who is a habitual criminal, and gave him the contract to Kuldeep for Rs 2.5 lakh.In the wee hours of Friday, Sagar along with his three accomplices came at Kuldeep's house. As per the plan main door was unlocked and Kuldeep was sleeping.The accused first strangulated Kuldeep with a dupatta and towel and then slit his throat with a sickle. The police have recovered the dupatta and towel while the murder sickle is yet to be recovered.The dupatta and towel used in crime was recovered from an adjoining vacant plotPolice suspected an insider’s role as the boundary walls of house had grills and nobody could have entered the house without friendly entryThe statements of Kuldeep’s wife and daughter did not match. While the wife claimed that family had normal relation, daughter accused her father of beating them.The mobile phones of mother-daughter were active till midnight. The details revealed that they were under constant touch with the habitual criminal over the phonePradeep Kumar, brother of deceased, said mother-daughter duo generally slept on ground floor, but on Friday, they went upstairs to sleep. Moreover, he told that Kuldeep was upset with his daughter over her affair.
