4 Ludhiana youths among top 50 in CA foundation test

LUDHIANA: After much anticipation, the result for Common Proficiency Test (CPT) for aspiring chartered accountants, conducted inMay 2018, was declared on Friday evening. The pass percentage is 19.24%.Securing AIR 19 in the results of Common Proficiency Test (CPT), Riya Goyal brought laurels to the city. Always a bright student, she also secured 99.33% in Class XII. In a talk with TOI, they shared their dreams, aspirations and success mantra.Over 6,315 candidates appeared for the CA foundation exam out of which 1,215 have cracked the exam.

LUDHIANA: After much anticipation, the result for Common Proficiency Test (CPT) for aspiring chartered accountants, conducted inMay 2018, was declared on Friday evening. Four city youths bagged top 50 positions in All India Rank (AIR). In a talk with TOI, they shared their dreams, aspirations and success mantra.Over 6,315 candidates appeared for the CA foundation exam out of which 1,215 have cracked the exam. 3,877 male candidates appeared of which 682 have passed. Out of the 2,438 female candidates, 533 passed. The pass percentage is 19.24%.Securing AIR 19 in the results of Common Proficiency Test (CPT), Riya Goyal brought laurels to the city. A second year BCom student at Venkateswara College, Delhi, Riya attributes her success to her parents and teachers who showed her the right path.A student of Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, she secured 290/400 in CPT in her first attempt. She secured 95% in Class XII and 9.8 CGPA in Class X. Her mother Ritu Goyal is a homemaker while her father Vinay Goyal is a director of revenue intelligence, GST, who also happens to be her role model since childhood. Riya aspires to become successful like her father.“My success mantra is nothing but hard work. I started preparations way before the exam,” she said.Himashu Chala with AIR 24 scored 285 out of 400 in CPT. His father Manoj Chala is a businessman and mother Meenakshi Chawla runs a shop. He said, “I revised whatever I studied from tutorials. Clearing CPT with such a good score seems to be a good start for my career.” Pursuing BCom from SCD Government College, 18-year-old Himanshu secured 94.8% in Class XII and 10 CGPA in Class X. Playing cricket during his free time relaxes him.Naaz Monga secured 36 AIR. Always a bright student, she also secured 99.33% in Class XII. She topped her school, RS Model Sr Sec School in Class XII and also in the first semester exams of BCom in Panjab University’s December examination with 85%.Her father Gurdeep Singh owns an electronics shop and her mother Poonam Monga is a housewife. She loves to cook in her spare time. Sharing her secret of high score, Naaz said, “For scoring good marks, one only needs to study with dedication for three to four hours a day and revise the concepts regularly.”Another city youth Tashween Kaur secured AIR 50 with a score of 258 out of 400. Tashween aims to become an entrepreneur. She is a student of BCom second year at Government College of Girls.Her father Baljiner Singh is a businessman and mother Davinder Kaur is a housewife . While talking about the approach towards preparing for the exam, Tashween said, self-study for a fixed number of hours everyday worked for her.
