Autopsy report: Shimlapuri man was strangled to death

LUDHIANA: Four months after a 35-year-old man was found dead near Sidhwan Canal, police on Saturday registered a murder case against unidentified accused.The post-mortem report of Brij Kishore, a factory worker, showed that he was strangulated to death, said Shimlapuri police station SHO inspector Davinder Singh The body of Kishore, a resident of Shimlapuri, was found on the canal banks, near Grain Market, on March 27.“As the body had no external injury marks, police initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC. The autopsy report was received on Saturday which pointed out that Kishore, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was strangled,” a cop said.“We are investigating the case from all angles and questioning his colleagues and kin,” the SHO added.A case has been registered under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
