Cops seize 60kg poppy husk, nab 2

Ludhiana: Khanna police arrested two drug peddlers after recovering 60kg poppy husk from a truck near Bullepur on GT Road late on Tuesday evening. They were being questioned, and more disclosures about the drug trade were expected from them. The accused were identified as Avtar Singh and Jora Singh, both of Salaudi.Cops said a Sadar police station team, checking vehicles on GT Road near Bullepur, stopped a truck bearing registration number PB23K-7276, and found three plastic bags from the truck’s tool box, which contained 60kg poppy husk. The truck driver identified himself as Avtar, and the person sitting next to him as Jora.Cops said both were immediately arrested and booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Sadar police station in Khanna.
