He said if the government failed to take action, he would begin the ‘Morcha’ (agitation) from Bargari itself.Khaira was here to hold the Punjabi Ekta convention in Patiala where AAP ousted leader and Patiala MP Dharamvira Gandhi joined his event on the stage and announced his support to all those demanding autonomy for Punjab.Meanwhile, Gandhi claimed that efforts will be made to take all the like-minded workers and the leaders on one platform, which is also needed to revive the hopes of common man.Gandhi also announced that none of the party workers will be called volunteers as they were party workers. However, the name of the event was volunteers’ convention. Both Khaira and Gandhi claimed that Kartarpur Sahib corridor should be opened for all on the event of 550 years centenary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev for all Punjabis, including Hindus, as Guru Nanak is revered by a large section of people of many other communities.Khaira said, “We demanded that this is made a permanent feature so that people can visit the Gurdwara in Kartarpur Sahib freely. We urge the Government of India to also take up the opening of Amritsar border for free trade.”A large number of local leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, however, did not attend.
