CHANDIGARH: AAP legislator from Dakha Harvinder Singh Phoolka on Friday alleged that the Punjab Congress did not want to take action against accused in October 2015 police firing cases at Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan.He claimed that when three accused Punjab Police officers on Thursday approached the Punjab and Haryana high court challenging Justice Ranjit Singh Commission’s report, advocate general Atul Nanda did not bother to appear in the court for defending the commission’s report. He said the state government rather invited the court’s stay on the commission’s recommendations since it suited the state government.Phoolka said he had postponed the decision to resign as MLA after paying obeisance at Harmandar Sahib on September 15, because the high court has stayed recommendations of the report. He said it would be inappropriate for him to still demand action on the commission’s report and he would have to wait for the next hearing of the case on September 20.Phoolka was on Friday addressing the mediapersons at the Chandigarh Press Club.
