Acknowledge right to autonomy of states, accept resolutions of Bathinda convention: Dharamvira Gandhi

PATIALA: Responding to Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal’s appeal for coming back to the party fold, Patiala MP Dr Dharamvira Gandhi has asked the former to first analyse and identify the reasons behind its fiasco in the 2017 Punjab assembly elections.Gandhi said the party should go into the details as to why the dream of providing the state electorate within alternate political party had been virtually killed. Punjabis have figured out what ails Punjab and have right to fight for amelioration of their miseries.”He said, “Punjab needs a political programme specific to its own needs, tailored to suit its specificities and future generations.”He called upon the Delhi CM to acknowledge Punjab’s right to seek autonomy for itself within Indian Union and through peaceful means and accept the first two of the six resolutions of the Bathinda convention as preconditions to any meaningful initiative on Punjab.Dr Gandhi had recently share the stage with former leader of opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira and had reposed faith in him.
