The problem is likely to worsen if the weather alert from Punjab government predicting similar weather for the next couple of days is to be believed.Low-lying areas like BRS Nagar, Ferozepur Road, Sarabha Nagar, Model Town, and old city areas like Chaura Bazaar, Gur Mandi, Railway Station road, Pavilion Bridge, Bus Stand road, Sherpur Chowk, Cancer Hospital road, areas near DMC Hospital were among the worst affected areas in city. The power transformers are very near my shop, and due to waterlogging, there is always a risk of electrocution.”Prabhleen Kaur, a resident of Model Town, who has to commute to Badowal daily on her two-wheeler, said there was chaos on the roads due to waterlogging. Businessman Navjot Singh said he had gone to Focal Point for some work, and was stunned to see waterlogging in the area. “With great difficulty, I drove my car through the road as it was waterlogged,” he added.Meanwhile, MC commissioner KP Brar claimed that all efforts were being made to solve the problem at the earliest.
