4 arrested with 11 stolen phones, 2 bikes

LUDHIANA: The division number 4 police have arrested four men with 11 stolen mobile phones, a sharp-edged weapon, scooter and a motorcycle.The accused are identified as Ashwani Kumar, Peer Chand of Ghati Mohalla, Tarun Narang of Basant Nagar, Shivpuri area and Ankush of Sundar Nagar. All accused are factory workers and are aged between 22 to 27 years.Inspector Surinder Chopra, SHO, division number 4 police station, said Ashwani and Peer Chand were arrested from near Bajwa Nagar following a tip-off. The accused were passing through the area on a scooter when they were caught.After their interrogation, the police arrested Tarun and Ankush from near Ved Temple chowk and further seized two mobile phones and one motorcycle used by them in executing crimes.The SHO said all accused are drug addicts and they used to target factory workers to buy drugs.Tarun had come out of jail two months ago and had resumed criminal activities.
