PATIALA: A woman who had adopted the child of family friends has accused the biological parents of kidnapping the boy six years later.Police have booked the boy's biological parents, Sarabjit Kaur and Rajwant Singh, on the complaint of the adoptive mother, Kukwant Kaur. The accused and the complainant come from the same village of Patiala district.Kulwant Kaur says that a few years ago, she turned barren when her husband fed her some Ayurvedic medicine in the hope of begeting a son. He forced her to abort baby after baby suspecting that it was a female. He did not want a girl chid. The side effects of those unprescribed medicines proved dangerous and she had to get her uterus removed.When she turned infertile, she decided to adopt the son of fellow villager Sarabjit Kaur, who had another son and was ready to give up her second child for adoption. Kulwant Kaur said: "I adopted Sarabjit's son about six years ago after completing all legal formalities. The child was all of two days them and I nurtured him all these years. Suddenly in August, Sarabjit came over with her husband and kidnapped my adopted child when he was playing outside the house."She said: "I filed a complaint with police, who registered a case after investigation. The child remains untraced and I have no clue to where he was taken. My abandoned me four years ago and now my brother supports me."Police said that the kidnapping matter was under investigation. The station house officer concerned said: "Kulwant Kaur had adopted the child legally and his biological mother was not withing her right to take him away six years later."
