Army recruitment racket: 35 candidates booked for submitting forged certificates

LUDHIANA: A month after the Ropar police busted Army recruitment racket , the division no 5 police have booked 35 candidates for fraudulently getting themselves enrolled in the army recruitment trials organised by Ludhiana Army Recruitment Office , in September 2018. They were booked for allegedly helping the candidates get forged certificates with the help of fake stamps of Tehsildar and Sub Tehsildar.Complainant told that, during inquiry it was identified that the residential certificates, in which the Haryana and Rajasthan candidates were shown to be of Punjab, are forged. It also claimed that the accused would charge Rs 3 Lakh to Rs 5 lakh for aspirants. The entire matter came in limelight after Ropar police busted the racket. The stamps of Tehsildar and sub Tehsildars were also fake.

It is alleged that these candidates belong to Haryana and Rajashthan however with the help of forged residential certificates they got themselves enrolled in Punjab cedar.The FIR has been lodged on the compliant of Col Vishal Dubey , director recruiting at Army Recruitment Office, Ludhiana under sections of 420 (Cheating), 465(Punishment for forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security or will etc), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (Using as genuine a forged document) of IPC against candidates identified as Sanjay Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Vinod Kumar Kuldeep Singh , Sonu Singh, Rajbeer Singh, Vikram Singh, Manjeet Singh, Govind Singh of SBS Nagar, Sunny Singh, Ramkesh Singh, Sushil Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Vijendra, Pawan Singh, Panveer Singh, Manjeet, Deepak Singh, Vikas Kumar, Tarun Sharma, Kuldeep Singh, Pradeep Singh, Sonu, Vikram Singh, Premjit Singh, Pradeep Singh, Amarjeet Singh and Shamsher.In this case the Ludhiana police have already booked an ex havaldar Mohinder Singh of infantry battalion TA and Surinder Pal, Civil defence employee- both posted at Army Recruitment office, Ludhiana. They were booked for allegedly helping the candidates get forged certificates with the help of fake stamps of Tehsildar and Sub Tehsildar.Complainant told that, during inquiry it was identified that the residential certificates, in which the Haryana and Rajasthan candidates were shown to be of Punjab, are forged. The stamps of Tehsildar and sub Tehsildars were also fake. two employers including Ex Havaldar Mohinder Singh and Surinder Pal were also a part of this racket who have been booked in this case.SHO at police station Division no 5 Inspector Jatinder Singh said that these candidates have been booked in the compliant of Col Dubey. The entire matter came in limelight after Ropar police busted the racket. These candidates, who are from other states, managed to get forged residential certificates of Punjab, and got themselves enrolled.On January 19, the Ropar police arrested Amit Kumar and Manoj Kumar of Ferozepur cantonment area, Manjit Singh and Sunil of Jind in Haryana and Yogesh Kumar, the king pin, of Salem Tabri, Ludhiana. The police also recovered 29 Aadhaar cards, fake document sets of 48 individuals, 68 attestation stamps including designation of SHO, tehsildar and municipal councillor.The Ropar police claimed that the gang was active form last five years and the king pin Yogesh has prepared fake documents for 150 persons. It also claimed that the accused would charge Rs 3 Lakh to Rs 5 lakh for aspirants.
