Glaucathon walk for awareness of Glaucoma held

Through Glaucathon we try to create awareness in society about glaucoma and its treatment.”On this occasion of World Glaucoma Week, L J Eye Institute offered free Glaucoma screening program and conducted a patient education program on Glaucoma, which was mentored by the Civil Surgeon Ambala, Dr S L Verma. Although there is no cure for glaucoma, but early detection and treatment can manage the condition and prevent vision loss. AMBALA: The LJ Eye Institute, Ambala on Friday held a walk called ‘Glaucathon – A Walk Against Glaucoma’ for the awareness on Glaucoma in Ambala City on Friday in the morning.The walkathon started from the LJ Eye Institute to Iffco Chowk and back to the institute.Renowned senior physician Dr VK Gupta flagged off the walkathon, Dr Vikas Mittal, medical director, L J Eye Institute, Dr Rajiv Gupta, eminent radiologist along with Dr Urvish Vashisth, Dr Ruchi Mittal and Dr Purvasha Narang among other senior surgeon and eye specialists who walked for the awareness initiative.The marathon started from LJ Eye Institute to Inko Chowk and ended back to LJ Eye Institute.Dr Vikas Mittal, said, “Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness worldwide, it is a disease that damages the optic nerve .
