PATIALA: Alleging that the media in-charge of Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh was acting as the election propagandist of his wife and Congress ticket aspirant from Patiala, Preneet Kaur and hence violating the code of conduct , sitting Patiala MP Dr Dharamvira Gandhi has filed a complaint with the Election Commission.Dr Gandhi, who was in Samana on Wednesday to hold meetings with his supporters, said Preneet Kaur was using the government machinery to influence the voters and even the chief minister holding a meeting with the MLAs and other party leaders in Patiala asking them to expedite the ongoing development works to send out a message amongst the electorate was also a violation of the code of conduct.He said during the elections the media in-charge of chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh was supposed to resign from his post, instead, he had now taken over as the poll campaign manager of Preneet Kaur and was issuing press statements on her behalf without having put in his papers. He said the fight in Patiala was now between him and the entire machinery of the Punjab Government and the Election Commission should ensure that all get an equal opportunity while contesting the Lok Sabha elections.While the sitting MP is reaching out to the electorate seeking votes for the development works carried out during his tenure, he is also targeting the state government for its failure in dealing with the issues of drugs, helping the farmers tide over the agricultural crisis, unemployment and corruption.
