LUDHIANA: Panic gripped village Bagha Kalan of Ladhowal when body of a man, with tied hand and legs, was found in the field area on Saturday morning. According to police the body seems to be a few days old as it had started decomposing. The official also told the body could not be recognized form the face and it is suspected that either it has decomposed or the face was burnt.The police later identified the accused to be Zari Lal, 36, who living in a labour quarter in Model Town area Zari lal had gone missing from the house on March 11 without informing anyone following which his cousin also lodged a missing complaint with police station Model Town on March 14.Kundan Kumar, cousin of deceased told police that he along with his cousin Zari lal and another man lives in a rented accommodation in Model Town. In the evening of March 11, around 4:30, Zari Lal left the house without informing anyone. When he did not return till evening, he started calling him but Zari Lal did not respond to his calls. Around 9:30PM, same day, Zari lal answered the call and asked Kundan to prepare dinner stating that he is coming home.However Zari Lal did not return home. Next morning when his roommates tried to approach him on phone, it was switched off. Thereafter on March 14, Kundan lodged a missing compliant with police.On Saturday morning, when a farmer Gurmeet Singh of Bagha Kalan went to his field areas with labourers, he found a body. There was all over mud on the body and its hands and legs were tied up with rope.After being informed the Ladhowal police reached on spot and initiated investigation.The SHO at police station Ladhowal, inspector Manmohan Singh told that during preliminary investigation it has been identified that the man was murdered somewhere else and his body was later dumped here. The face of man could not be recoganised and it is suspected that the face was burnt to hide the identity. The case has been referred to Model Town police station.Further SHO at police station Model Town, inspector Satnam Singh told that the police have registered a case under section 302 (murder) of IPC in this matter. The police are questioning the roommates of deceased for further investigation. So far that the police have not came to know about any personal rivalry of deceased.
