Man held for abusing boy

BRIEFLYLudhiana: The police have arrested a shopkeeper on the charge of sodomising a 12-year-old boy at Mohalla Partap Nagar in Ludhiana. The boy had gone to purchase something from Umesh’s shop around 3:30 pm on Saturday. Later, the police also arrested one Sukhvir Kumar of Boor Majra, who had given the tablets to Jaswinder. Later, on his information the police arrested Sukhvir as well. The accused were presented in court, from where they were sent on police remand for two days, the DSPolice said.

BRIEFLY Ludhiana: The police have arrested a shopkeeper on the charge of sodomising a 12-year-old boy at Mohalla Partap Nagar in Ludhiana. The suspect has been identified as Umesh Kumar (23) of Fauji Karyana Store. The boy had gone to purchase something from Umesh’s shop around 3:30 pm on Saturday. The victim told the police that the suspect pulled him inside the shop and sodomised him.The investigating officer, ASI Jasvir Singh, said when the child raised the alarm, people gathered there. After getting information, the police also reached there and started investigation, he said.The ASI said the victim was known to the suspect whose shop is located near his house. The boy is a student of Class VIII, he said. TNS Shop burgled at Ghumar Mandi Ludhiana: TBurglars broke into a shop at Ghumar Mandi and decamped with Rs 12,000. A priest of the nearby temple noticed the broken lock at the shop, ‘Ram Pooja Bhandar’, on Monday morning and informed the shop owner. The owner, Jeevan Kumar, found the shop ransacked and cash missing. The police reached the spot after getting information and started investigation. TNS Intoxicant tablets seized Khamano: The Khamano police claimed to have arrested a person and recovered 300 intoxicant tablets from him during a naka. The accused has been identified as Jaswinder Singh of Dhanori village. Later, the police also arrested one Sukhvir Kumar of Boor Majra, who had given the tablets to Jaswinder. The police seized 90 intoxicant tablets from Sukhvir. As per Deputy Superintendent of Police Dharampal, a police party of Khamano police led by ASI Sapinder Singh had laid a naka near Boparai Dhaba, during which they spotted a suspicious person, who was on foot. The tablets were seized from him. Later, on his information the police arrested Sukhvir as well. The accused were presented in court, from where they were sent on police remand for two days, the DSPolice said. OC
