International Olympiad winners

Ludhiana: Students of Manav Rachna International School have made the school proud by securing positions in an international Olympiad. Mahira Vashisht of Class II bagged eighth rank in the International English Olympiad. She has also received a bronze and cash prize of Rs 500 from the Science Olympiad Foundation. Green Land Convent SchoolTo make students aware of depletion of tree cover, Green Land Convent School, Civil City, celebrated Van Mahotsava by planting trees on its campus. Students of Class III showcased their creativity and artistic skills by making beautiful paper bags and decorating them using innovative ideas.

Ludhiana: Students of Manav Rachna International School have made the school proud by securing positions in an international Olympiad. Mahira Vashisht of Class II bagged eighth rank in the International English Olympiad. She has also received a bronze and cash prize of Rs 500 from the Science Olympiad Foundation. Other students who received certificates of merit in various Olympiads include Aarav Bhalla of Class I-C, Tanvir Kaur, Jeenal Gupta and Kisha Iyer, all of Class III, Aaliya Vats of Class II, Ayaan Roy of Class IV, Samaira and Bhakti of Class V, Mannat Kalra of Class VII and Bhaagwat of Class VIII. Van mahotsava celebrated Jesus Saviour’s School, Khamano, celebrated Van Mahotsava to instil values of social responsibility in students towards safeguarding trees and forests. Many students from nursery to Class II participated in the plantation programme. Green Land Convent School To make students aware of depletion of tree cover, Green Land Convent School, Civil City, celebrated Van Mahotsava by planting trees on its campus. Week-long festivities under nature conservation week were held. Students of all classes enthusiastically participated in planting trees at their homes as well as part of the festivities. Inter-house quiz held Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, conducted an inter-house social science quiz for the students of Class VI to VIII with the aim to enhance their knowledge about the subject. A team comprising four students from each house participated in the quiz. The quiz comprised four rounds, facts-based, buzzer, audio-visual and rapid fire. Teams gave each other a tough competition. Kirti house grabbed first position, followed by Shakti house and Jyoti house. Paper bag day organised Green Land Convent School, Sector-32, Chandigarh Road, celebrated paper bag day with the objective to raise awareness among children about paper bags as a sustainable and efficient means of packaging. A paper bag making competition was organised to motivate students to reduce the use of plastic bags. Students of Class III showcased their creativity and artistic skills by making beautiful paper bags and decorating them using innovative ideas. Students also exchanged their handmade paper bags as gifts. TNS
