Vet varsity organises livestock-based training programmes

Tribune News ServiceLudhiana, July 16Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), has started three training programmes. Two specialised pig farming trainings are being conducted by the department of veterinary and animal husbandry extension education and the department of livestock production management. HK Verma, director of extension education, said a total of 77 trainees, including 7 women trainees from avrious districts of Punjab and adjoining states, are participating in these training programmes. Verma said goat farming was gaining momentum in the state as young farmers and farm women were showing keen interest in goat farming. The university is also providing hand held support to farmers through the Progressive Goat Farmers Association.
