GADVASU begins internship programme under NSS

ibune News ServiceLudhiana, July 18The College of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), has initiated a 20-day Swachh Bharat Summer Internship programme under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS). Satyavan Rampal, director students welfare-cum estate officer, GADVASU, inaugurated the internship programme. Nidhi Sharma, welfare officer, GADVASU, said students would devote 100 hours for the internship programme. Mukhopadhyay added that during the internship programme, students would be taking part in cleaning the area, a door-to-door campaign, tree plantation, awareness drive through street-drama and wall painting on water conservation, pollution control and garbage disposal. The interns will also be visiting local schools and interacting with students to sensitise them about cleanliness and Swachh Bharat programme.

ibune News Service Ludhiana, July 18 The College of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), has initiated a 20-day Swachh Bharat Summer Internship programme under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS). Satyavan Rampal, director students welfare-cum estate officer, GADVASU, inaugurated the internship programme. He said the university was regularly participating in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, initiated by the Prime Minister’s Office. He stated that 10 students of the university have been enrolled for the programme, under which GADVASU had adopted Barewal Awana village of Ludhiana. The camp was inaugurated by Kamal Preet Brar, IAS, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, in the presence of Pankaj Kaka and Ramneek Verma, director at the College of Animal Biotechnology. Nidhi Sharma, welfare officer, GADVASU, said students would devote 100 hours for the internship programme. CS Mukhopadhyay, NSS Nodal Officer of the College of Animal Biotechnology, stated that the enroled students for the current internship programme would be working for socio-economic development of the residents. Mukhopadhyay added that during the internship programme, students would be taking part in cleaning the area, a door-to-door campaign, tree plantation, awareness drive through street-drama and wall painting on water conservation, pollution control and garbage disposal. Besides, the interns will also organize awareness campaign on personal hygiene. The interns will also be visiting local schools and interacting with students to sensitise them about cleanliness and Swachh Bharat programme. Students will interact with livestock owners at the local veterinary hospital of Barewal to make them aware about zoonotic diseases and one-health concept.
