Ludhiana, August 20 Teachers protested against suspension of the school head of Government Primary School, Gauhaur, today. Vidya Devi, Head Teacher, was suspended after an inquiry report revealed that she had taken back 50 per cent of a scholarship amount received by a student. Satvir Rauni of the Elementary Teachers Union said the allegations against the school head were not true. “The allegations have been leveled on her due to some personal enmity. Even residents of Gauhaur village are against her suspension.” Parveen Kumar from the Government Teaches Union said, “Vidya Devi is a committed worker. She has been working hard to facelift the school. False accusations are leveled on her.” “After this incident, no tecaher will dare to ask for donation for upliftment of school,” he said.
