BVM students help Ludhiana win

The chess competition was held at BVM, Udham Singh Nagar, and four students from the school figured in Ludhiana district’s five-member chess team that finished at the second place. Ludhiana district secured 13.5 points to finish as runners-up, while Sangrur district scored 14 points to bag the winner’s trophy and Nawanshahr district accumulated 11.5 points to win the third position. Ravinder Singh, District Sports Officer, Ludhiana, was the chief guest at the prize distribution function. Bamba and Goyal congratulated the students on bringing glory to the school. They also appreciated Baljit Singh Gill, head of the physical education department and Sanjeev Thakur for their guidance in this achievement.

PUNJAB STATE (U-14) GAMES Bag 2nd position in chess competition Our Sports Correspondent Ludhiana, August 24 Students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir (BVM) Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar branch, helped Ludhiana in securing the overall second position in chess competition in the Punjab State (U-14) Games held here from August 21 to 23. The chess competition was held at BVM, Udham Singh Nagar, and four students from the school figured in Ludhiana district’s five-member chess team that finished at the second place. They included Daman Sharma, Ansh Anand, Bisman Singh and Ridham Jain. Ludhiana district secured 13.5 points to finish as runners-up, while Sangrur district scored 14 points to bag the winner’s trophy and Nawanshahr district accumulated 11.5 points to win the third position. Ravinder Singh, District Sports Officer, Ludhiana, was the chief guest at the prize distribution function. The members of the BVM Trust including MM Bamba and PC Goyal besides Principal Bandana Sethi and vice-principal Ranju Mangal were among others present on the occasion. Bamba and Goyal congratulated the students on bringing glory to the school. They also appreciated Baljit Singh Gill, head of the physical education department and Sanjeev Thakur for their guidance in this achievement.
