Peddler arrested with 1kg of heroin, 100-gm ice drug

The suspect has been identified as Ravinder Singh Nikka (36) of Shimlapuri. Special Task Force AIG Snehdeep Sharma and in charge Harbans Singh addressed a press conference on the matter today. During the preliminary questioning, the peddler told the police that he had been into the notorious trade of drug peddling for a long time. He was facing six cases of drug peddling registered at separate police stations.

Ludhiana, September 12 Special Task Force (STF) has nabbed a drug peddler with 1 kg of heroin and 100 gram of ice (methamphetamine) drug. The vehicle from which the drugs were recovered has been impounded. The suspect has been identified as Ravinder Singh Nikka (36) of Shimlapuri. Special Task Force AIG Snehdeep Sharma and in charge Harbans Singh addressed a press conference on the matter today. Sharma said the STF got secret information that Ravinder was to deliver a drug consignment to his clients and he had parked his Innova outside his house. A police party conducted a raid and detained the peddler. A search of the vehicle yielded the drugs. During the preliminary questioning, the peddler told the police that he had been into the notorious trade of drug peddling for a long time. He was facing six cases of drug peddling registered at separate police stations. The AIG said Ravinder had been convicted in some drug-peddling cases and recently came out of the jail on bail. He told the police that he had been bringing drugs from a Delhi-based man and supplying them to his clients in Ludhiana. The STF is likely to conduct a raid at the Delhi peddler’s place. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act.
