Ludhiana, September 13 A 55-year-old Salon owner was robbed and severely injured by two bike-borne snatchers on Tibba Road this morning. He was hospitalised with severe face injuries. Mushtaq Ahmed said he had arrived here from Delhi around 5 am. Since there was no auto-rickshaw, he started walking to his house. “Two bike-borne persons cornered me near Satsang Bhawan. Before I could ask them anything, they attacked me with a sharp weapon injuring me in the face. They snatched Rs 5,000 and a mobile phone from me and fled the scene,” he said. The police were informed and a team from the Tibba station reached the spot. The victim said since he was hit just below the eyes, he could not see the number of the bike. What he remembers is that it was a silver Splendor, said Mushtaq. The victim’s son, Mohammad Salim Salmani, said a CCTV camera installed near the spot was non-functional.
