IN BRIEF Ludhiana: Thieves targeted a salon situated on Hira Singh Road and decamped with Rs 11,000 in cash, an LED set, a mobile phone and a gas cylinder. Shakti Kumar, salon owner, said on the night of September 11, he locked his salon and returned home. Next morning, he was shocked to see the locks broken and salon ransacked. The police have registered a case against unknown persons. TNS Peddler held with drug Ludhiana: The Ladhowal police have nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 95 gram of drug powder from his possession. He has been identified as Daljit Singh of Walipur Khurd. He was nabbed at a naka at Chahra village following a tip-off. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him. TNS Hospital nurse abducted Ludhiana: A 23-year-old nurse went missing under mysterious circumstances. Her family suspected that she might have been kidnapped by unknown persons. Karamjit Kaur of Katani Kalan told the police that her daughter Amanjot Kaur worked as staff nurse at the Fortis hospital and she lived in a PG. Her daughter’s friend told the family over the phone that Amanjot went missing on September 11. TNS Ludhiana: The Divison 3 police have nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 17 cases of illicit liquor from him. He has been identified as Gurdeep Singh of Hargobind Nagar. The police said they got a tip-off that Gurdeep had stocked a huge quantity of illicit liquor at his house. A raid was conducted and the accused nabbed with the liquor. A case under the Excise Act has been registered. TNS
